A ghastly motor accident occurred around 10 a.m. at Gate 6 park of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), following a brake failure by a trailer driver.
The incident involved a heavy-duty trailer, two fully-loaded passenger buses, and a motorcycle (Okada). Tragically, the Okada rider died instantly at the scene due to the severity of his injuries, including a reported skull fracture.
Eyewitnesses say the trailer lost control after experiencing brake failure and rammed into the vehicles ahead, causing chaos and injuries.
Several victims of the accident, including passengers from the buses, are currently receiving medical treatment at the time of this report.
