The Federal Ministry of Education has issued a firm warning to all Nigerian universities, stating that admissions must be processed strictly through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), not via Post-UTME.

In a statement released by Mr. Ben Goong, Director of Press and Public Relations, the ministry reaffirmed that the ban on Post-UTME remains in effect and dismissed recent claims suggesting the decision had been reversed.

According to the ministry, universities have no authority to admit candidates outside the list provided by JAMB. Institutions are, however, permitted to screen only those already admitted by JAMB. This screening must be limited to credential verification and physical checks to rule out anti-social behavior or falsified documents.

“All screening and registration activities must take place after resumption and only for students officially admitted by JAMB,” the statement emphasized.
